To make this dark honey, with a full, robust flavor, the bees collect nectar from wildflowers at the 5,000 ft elevation of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.  Compared with lighter colored varieties, this high sierra wildflower honey tastes less sweet with hints of a molasses flavor.  The basic composition and nutritional profile of all honeys is about the same, but this honey, (like buckwheat honey) has higher concentrations of micronutrients, trace elements, and anti-oxidants.
